Enemy fired twice at TPPs in eastern region in 24 hours, there are blackouts due to bad weather, but there is enough electricity - Ukrenergo
Kyiv • UNN
A thermal power plant in eastern Ukraine was hit twice, damaging equipment, but the electricity generated is currently meeting consumer demand despite the increased load on the grid in winter. The weather left 81 settlements in Donetsk and Kharkiv regions without electricity.
The enemy fired twice at a thermal power plant in the eastern region over the last day, causing damage. Due to bad weather, 77 settlements in 2 regions have been without power for more than a day. At the same time, yesterday was the lowest maximum consumption on a working day since the beginning of December, and there is enough electricity generated by the company to supply all consumers. This was reported by NPC Ukrenergo on Thursday, UNN reports.
Consumption and generation
"In the eastern region, a thermal power plant was shelled twice in one day. There is damage to equipment," Ukrenergo said.
At the same time, due to the sunny weather, solar power plants reportedly increased their output yesterday.
Thus, December 20 was the warmest day since the beginning of December. The average daily temperature was 4.9°C. The maximum daily consumption level on December 20 was in the evening, which was 0.9% lower than on December 19. This was the lowest maximum consumption on a working day since the beginning of December.
"At present, the electricity generated by power plants of all types is enough to ensure the power supply to all legal and household consumers," the NPC said.
"Despite the noticeable warming, the overall level of consumption remains high. This is typical for the winter period, but still creates an additional load on the power system. Therefore, it is still very important to consume electricity economically now," Ukrenergo noted.
Export/importExport/import
There are no exports today. Electricity is imported from Slovakia, Romania and Moldova for almost the entire day, according to the NPC.

In the southern region, two high-voltage overhead lines were disconnected by protection this morning. There were no power outages on one of them, and power supply was restored to the other after 1 hour. The lines are back in operation, and the reasons for the protection systems' operation are being investigated.
As of the morning of December 21, 81 settlements in Donetsk and Kharkiv regions were without power due to bad weather, including 77 settlements for more than a day.
Due to technical damage, consumers in Sumy region are without electricity.
Due to the hostilities and other reasons, 467 settlements remain without electricity. The shelling caused new damages to the power grids in Dnipropetrovs'k, Kharkiv and Kherson regions.
