Charity auction to be held in Kyiv to raise funds for medicines and ammunition and draw attention to the role of women in the military

A charity auction will be held in Kyiv to present works made from military trophies to raise funds for medicines and ammunition for Ukrainian women soldiers.

The grand opening of a charity auction for women in the military will take place in Kyiv. The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy told about what will be put up for sale and the purpose of the event, UNN reports.

The event is organized with the support of the Defence Intelligence of Ukraine and the Murakha Charitable Foundation. The auction will last until March 28 to raise funds for the purchase of medicines and ammunition for  servicewomen.

Details

The ministry noted that as of January 2024, more than 45,000 women serve in the Ukrainian army. In particular, 13 thousand of them have the status of combatants, and about 20 thousand  are military medics.

The cultural ministry emphasizes that the auction is aimed not only at raising money for medicines for the military, but also at raising the visibility of women's participation in military operations and combating gender bias and discrimination against women in the army.
