A 21-year-old BMW driver is suspected of hitting a pedestrian while intoxicated on Soborna Street in Bohodukhiv. The victim was seriously injured and the suspect was taken into custody.
In Bohodukhiv, Kharkiv region , a BMW hit a pedestrian on the edge of the roadway, and the driver, who is suspected of committing the accident while intoxicated, was taken into custody, the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office reported on Monday, UNN reported.

"A 21-year-old man was served a notice of suspicion on the fact of violation of traffic safety rules by a person driving a vehicle while intoxicated, which caused the victim serious bodily harm (Part 2 of Article 286-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine)," the prosecutor's office said on social media.
According to the investigation, "on July 31 of this year, the man, while intoxicated, was driving his BMW in the city of Bohodukhiv.
"Moving down Soborna Street... the driver did not choose a safe speed and hit a 48-year-old pedestrian who was standing on the edge of the roadway at the time. There was also a collision with four other cars that were parked - the cars were damaged," the prosecutor's office said.
The injured man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
It was preliminarily established that the driver's blood alcohol content was 1.66%.
"At the request of the prosecution, the suspect was chosen a preventive measure in the form of detention," the prosecutor's office said.
