Scott Bessent announced the blocking of Iranian ports by the US Navy to stop the regime's revenues. All individuals and vessels facilitating trade will be sanctioned.

US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent stated that a naval blockade of Iranian ports could soon force Tehran to halt oil production. He wrote about this on the social network X, UNN reports.

According to Bessent, US President Donald Trump confirmed that the US Navy would continue to blockade Iranian ports.
In a matter of days, the storage facility on Kharg Island will be full, and weak Iranian oil wells will be shut down. Restricting Iran's maritime trade directly targets the regime's main sources of income.
Bessent emphasized that the US Treasury Department would continue its policy of maximum pressure on Iran.
Any person or vessel facilitating these flows – through covert trade and finance – risks falling under US sanctions.
He added that the US would continue to freeze assets that, he said, had been withdrawn by the Iranian leadership.
The blockade of Iranian ports is part of Washington's broader strategy aimed at limiting Tehran's revenues amid the war and the failure of negotiations between the parties.
