In addition, the former head of the SFS must pay a fine of UAH 17,000. He was also banned from holding public office for 3 years from the date of expiration of his prison term.

It is known that the court also credited Nasirov with the periods from March 2 to March 16, 2016, from April 24 to May 9, 2025, and from October 31, 2025, to April 2, 2026, to his sentence. These intervals were taken into account according to the rule: one day of pre-trial detention equals two days of imprisonment.

"Nasirov's Case": Context

The "gas case", in which Roman Nasirov was the main defendant, had been under consideration since 2017, and if a decision had not been made now, Nasirov could have avoided punishment. The statute of limitations in this case was expiring in mid-April.

This refers to the verdict for actions in 2015-2016, when Nasirov illegally allowed deferring debts to companies associated with Oleksandr Onyshchenko. The firms operated under joint venture agreements with "Ukrgasvydobuvannya" and sold gas to their intermediaries at understated prices. In addition, he granted these companies unjustified deferrals for the repayment of tax debts.

As a result, the state lost about 2 billion hryvnias.

In addition, Nasirov is involved in another case. In it, he is suspected of receiving a bribe of 722 million hryvnias from businessman Oleh Bakhmatyuk.
