The Ukrainian Air Force repelled a large-scale night attack by Russian troops. All 16 launched kamikaze drones and two of three guided missiles in different regions of the country were shot down.
All of the 16 Shahed attack drones and two of the three missiles launched by Russian troops were shot down in the skies over Ukraine overnight, Ukrainian Air Force Commander Lieutenant General Mykola Oleshchuk said on Thursday, UNN reports.

On the night of July 18, according to Oleshchuk, the enemy struck with 16 Shahed-131/136 attack UAVs from the Kursk region of Russia and three guided missiles from the south: two X-59/X-69 and one X-35.
According to him, a total of 19 air targets were detected and escorted by radio technical troops, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, anti-aircraft missile units of the Air Force, and electronic warfare units were involved in repelling the air attack.
As a result, the defenders of the sky managed to destroy all 16 "Shaheds" and two X-59 guided missiles in Dnipro, Poltava, Zaporizhzhia, Kyiv and Kharkiv regions
Most of the targets were destroyed in the eastern direction - in the area of responsibility of the "East" Air Command, said the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force.
