Three-vehicle crash occurred on a highway near Ternopil; a child was among those injured

Three cars collided on the highway in the village of Kolodne after the Toyota driver entered the oncoming lane. Three people, including a minor child, were hospitalized.

In Ternopil region, a road accident involving three cars occurred on a highway. Three people, including a minor child, were injured in the crash. This was reported by the Ternopil region police on Saturday, UNN writes.

The accident occurred on August 7 at around 3:30 p.m. on the Domanove–Kovel–Chernivtsi–Terebleche highway, in the village of Kolodne. Police and emergency services were working at the scene.
According to preliminary data, the driver of a Toyota entered the oncoming lane while turning, where it collided with a Peugeot. The BMW traveling behind then crashed into the Peugeot.
"As a result of the collision, the Peugeot driver became trapped inside the vehicle. State Emergency Service personnel freed him, after which the man was hospitalized," the agency said.
The Toyota driver and a minor passenger in that vehicle were also taken to hospital.
As can be seen in the released photographs, the car overturned onto its side.
Law enforcement officers are establishing all the circumstances of the accident. The issue of opening criminal proceedings under Article 286 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine is currently being considered.
