The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine supported the OSCE's conclusions on numerous violations during the parliamentary elections in Georgia. The Ministry called on the Georgian government to investigate the violations to ensure the legitimacy of the elections.

The facts of election violations in Georgia, established by international observers, should be investigated to ensure the legitimacy of the elections and avoid a political crisis. This is stated in the commentary of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine on the results of the parliamentary elections in Georgia, UNN reports.

The agency noted that Ukraine closely monitored the parliamentary elections held in Georgia on October 26, 2024.

We support the conclusions of the OSCE/ODIHR international observation mission to the parliamentary elections in Georgia, which recorded numerous violations. Bribery, intimidation, coercion and pressure on voters, lack of transparency of voting, restriction of access to the media for opposition parties - this is only an incomplete list of violations that will be remembered for these elections

- reads the commentary.

It is not surprising that the results were highly praised and welcomed in Russia, as such methods of influencing the results of the expression of will are inherent in the Russian regime. At the same time, they are incompatible with the path to the EU and NATO declared by the Georgian authorities, the Foreign Ministry added.

The facts established by international observers must be investigated to ensure the legitimacy of the elections and avoid a political crisis. We call on the Georgian government not to follow the Belarusian path to the loss of sovereignty and independence. Ukraine will under any circumstances support the Georgian people in their aspiration to continue the strategic course of joining the EU and NATO

- the Foreign Ministry summarized.
