Addendum

In 2021, Volodymyr Bugrov, who was then the Vice-Rector for Academic and Pedagogical Work at KNU, won the election for Rector of KNU.

At that time, the Ministry of Education and Science issued an order appointing Bugrov as Rector for a 5-year term from April 30, 2021, to April 29, 2026.

The Ministry of Education and Science has scheduled elections for a new rector for May 27.

According to the Student Parliament, following the ruling of the Kyiv Court of Appeal, he will not be able to participate in the University's rector elections.

In December, the NACP, following an audit of Bugrov's declaration, discovered false information amounting to nearly 900,000 hryvnias. The Kyiv Court of Appeal rejected Bugrov's appeal against the lower court's decision, which found him guilty of violating declaration requirements and using his son's Volkswagen Golf car.

In addition, Bugrov was recently involved in a sex scandal, which sparked mass protests against the university rector. Specifically, intimate photos and videos appeared online that are publicly linked to the rector and room 105 of the main (Red) building.

The publications claimed that these materials, lasting nearly half an hour and filmed from three different angles, captured an individual resembling KNU Rector Volodymyr Bugrov. The filmed individual is performing acts of an intimate nature, and the authors of the publications identify the filming location as a classroom in the University's Red Building, where the Center for the Study of Ivan Franko's Creative Heritage is located.
