Sybiha called the RF's proposal for a truce on May 9 a manipulation aimed at the US. Ukraine has not yet received official requests regarding a ceasefire.

Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha stated that Russia's announcement of a truce for May 9 is an attempt by the Russians to appeal to the United States, UNN reports.
"This is another manipulation. This is another attempt by the Russians, you know, to please the Americans first and foremost, to show some element of constructivism. The President of Ukraine clearly stated that as of today, the Ukrainian side has not received any proposals from them, but we are committed to peace efforts. Ukraine is committed to peace efforts,"
He noted that Ukraine has repeatedly stated its readiness for a truce and has focused its attention on how to end the war and how to achieve a long-term ceasefire.
According to him, Russia's announcement of a truce is an attempt at a diplomatic maneuver, as well as a PR campaign aimed at a domestic audience.
