"This is the road between Komarivka and Berostovets. At least you can drive," says a local resident.

However, it is still unclear whether the repair work is still ongoing or has already been completed.

The Service for the Restoration and Development of Infrastructure of Chernihiv Region has not yet provided information on this matter to a journalist of UNN .

At the same time, a representative of the Ukrainian Dairy Company, Ihor Khlystun, who cleared the roadside before the repair work began, suggests that it has already been completed.

"I saw tamping machines and special equipment being taken away. I understand that they have completed the work," Khlystun said.

To recap

Repairs to the road between Berestovets and Komarivka began in late June after a collective appeal by local residents to the regional authorities.

The Service for Infrastructure Restoration and Development in Chernihiv Oblast clarifiedthat emergency repairs are being made to the most damaged areas and that priority work is being done to improve the roadway. In particular, the works include asphalting.

Local residents accused the agricultural holdings Kernel and Ukrainian Dairy Company of destroying this section of the road.

Komarivske village head Viktor Bondarenko said that these companies  had joined the repair work, but did not specify how.

At the same time, the State Agency for the Restoration and Development of Infrastructure reported to UNN that one of the reasons for the destruction of the road between Berestovets and Komarivka was the uncontrolled movement of large, heavy vehicles.
