Experts identified the drone debris in Galați as a Russian Geran-2 type drone. Nicușor Dan stated that the RF bears responsibility for this incident.

The drone that hit a residential building in the Romanian city of Galați on the night of May 29 was a Russian "Geran-2" type drone. This was reported on social media X by Romanian President Nicușor Dan, citing the results of a technical investigation, according to UNN.

According to him, Romanian state experts have completed the analysis of the debris and reached a definitive conclusion regarding the drone's origin.
The inscription "Geran-2" in Cyrillic was found on the fragments. Furthermore, the electronic components, navigation systems, control modules, engine, and other structural elements were found to be identical or very similar to drones of this type previously found on Romanian territory and identified as being manufactured in Russia.
Physicochemical studies also confirmed the use of the same materials and fuel characteristic of the "Geran-2" series drones.
The investigation has unequivocally concluded that the debris found in Galați originates from a Russian-made Geran-2 drone
The Romanian President emphasized that the drone strike on a residential building, which resulted in injuries and material damage, is a serious incident.
The only responsible party is Russia
According to Dan, the investigation results will be shared with Romania's allies, as well as relevant NATO and European Union structures. He added that Bucharest will not ignore any incidents that threaten the safety of citizens, national security, or state sovereignty.
