Spain announces the transfer of 10 Leopard 2A4 battle tanks, backhoe loaders and anti-tank missiles to Ukraine, bringing the total number of such tanks transferred by Spain to 20.
Spain has announced the transfer of 10 more Leopard 2A4 tanks to Ukraine as part of a new batch of military aid, the Spanish Defense Ministry has reported, UNN reports.

"A new transfer of Leopard battle tanks donated by Spain to Ukraine is starting. In particular, the delivery includes 10 Leopard 2A4 battle tanks, various backhoe loaders and a significant number of anti-tank missiles," the Spanish Ministry of Defense reported in X.
According to the website of the Spanish Ministry of Defense, "the multimodal transportation of 10 Leopard 2A4 battle tanks to Ukraine has begun after completing the overhaul, adjustment and readiness process at the Santa Barbara Sistemas plant in Alcalá de Guadaira (Seville) and passing the appropriate tests to verify full performance.
"Security measures have been reinforced at all stages of this important movement," the Spanish Defense Ministry said.

According to the Spanish Ministry of Defense, this new batch of Leopard 2A4 combat tanks brings the total number of such tanks transferred by Spain to Ukraine to 20, and Spain "plans to prepare or transfer another new set during the second half of 2024.
