A Russian attack on a power facility in Sumy region left more than 100,000 consumers without power, while Ukraine received emergency electricity from Poland and plans to import more.

An energy facility in Sumy region came under an enemy attack overnight, leaving more than 100,000 consumers without electricity. The day before, Ukraine had been receiving electricity from Poland on an emergency basis, and imports are scheduled to reach record levels again today, the Energy Ministry said on Saturday, UNN reports.

Yesterday, at Poland's request, Ukraine received surplus electricity from the country's power system. This allows us to partially cover the capacity deficit caused by massive Russian attacks on the energy system.

"Today, the hourly outage schedules apply from 0:00 to 24:00. However, due to reduced consumption on weekends and the active operation of SPPs, restrictions will not be applied from 10:00 to 15:00," the Ministry of Energy reported.

Last night, a power facility was attacked in Sumy region. As a result, household and industrial consumers in Sumy (including the city of Sumy) and Kharkiv regions lost power. Consumers in Kharkiv region were reconnected. As of this morning, 100.4 thousand customers in 348 settlements in Sumy region remain without power supply. Restoration works are underway

De-energization

Yesterday evening, a high-voltage overhead line connecting the power systems of Ukraine and Moldova was briefly disconnected. It is now back online.

In Chernihiv region, an overhead power line of a regional power company was briefly disconnected. As a result, the substation and the household consumers, local industry and agricultural enterprises connected to it lost power. All consumers have been supplied with electricity.

Import and export

For the current day, electricity imports are forecast at 35,957 MWh. No exports are expected.
