According to the investigators, Kuzminov's killers also left behind an important piece of evidence: 9mm Makarov cartridge casings, a standard Soviet ammunition.
On the morning of February 13, a white Hyundai Tucson drove into the garage under Kuzminov's apartment building and parked in a vacant space between the elevator used by the residents and the ramp leading to the street. The two men waited there for several hours.
Around 16:20, Kuzminov drove into the garage, parked and started walking to the elevator. As he passed in front of a white Hyundai, two attackers got out of the car, called out to him and opened fire. Despite being hit by six bullets, Kuzminov managed to walk a short distance before collapsing on the ramp.

The murderers got into the car and drove over Kuzminov's body as they were leaving.
According to the newspaper, the car was found a few miles from the scene. According to investigators, the car was burned with a special catalyst. It took experts a week to identify the make and model of the car and determine that it had been stolen two days before the murder.
According to the police, the two hooded killers, who were recorded on surveillance footage from the parking lot of the Kuzminov residential complex, were obviously professionals - they completed the task and quickly disappeared.
It has not yet been established how the killers found him. The newspaper writes that according to two high-ranking Ukrainian officials, he contacted his ex-girlfriend, who is still in Russia, and invited her to come to Spain.
"It was a serious mistake," said one of the officials.
