Almost 400 settlements in 16 regions of Ukraine are without power due to the weather. Despite the absence of outage schedules, Ukrenergo urges to save electricity from 8:00 to 22:00.

Due to the bad weather, 397 settlements in 16 regions remain without electricity. Electricity consumption has slightly decreased amid rising temperatures, but despite the absence of blackout schedules, there is still a need to save electricity, in particular, not to turn on several powerful electrical appliances at the same time from 8:00 to 22:00, NPC Ukrenergo reported on Tuesday, UNN writes.

Bad weather

As a result of severe weather conditions (heavy rain, sleet, wind), 397 settlements in 16 regions were without power as of this morning. Most of them are in Khmelnytsky region. Repair crews of the regional power companies are working to eliminate the consequences of the bad weather. The power supply is expected to be restored by the end of the day.

Consumption

Consumption declined slightly compared to the previous day. Today, December 17, as of 6:00 a.m., it was 2% lower than at the same time on Monday. This is due to rising temperatures in most regions of Ukraine.

Yesterday, on December 16, the daily maximum consumption was recorded during the daytime. It was 5.5% higher than the maximum of the previous working day, on Friday, December 13. This is due to the application of fewer restrictive measures.

"No consumption restrictions are expected today. However, we remind you that the Ukrainian power system is still recovering from twelve massive Russian attacks since the beginning of this year, and there is a significant power shortage," the NPC said.

From 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. today, there is still a need to conserve electricity. "Please do not use several powerful electrical appliances at the same time during this period," the company said.

According to the Ministry of Energy, over the past day, power companies restored power to 42,107 consumers who were cut off as a result of the fighting.

Import

It will be supplied throughout the day from Poland, Romania, Slovakia, Hungary, and Moldova. The total volume is 20,903 MWh, with a maximum capacity of up to 1,151 MW in some hours.

Situation at ZNPP

"The water level in the cooling pond is 14.09 meters. This is enough to meet the needs of the plant," the Ministry of Energy said.
