Lithuania summons Russian representative over damage to its embassy in Kyiv by Russian strike

Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys reported that the country's embassy in Kyiv was damaged as a result of a night Russian attack. Lithuania summons the Russian representative in Vilnius over this incident.
Lithuania summons Russia's representative in Vilnius after the Russian attack on Kyiv, which damaged the country's embassy, Lithuanian Foreign Minister Kęstutis Budrys said on Saturday on X, UNN reports.
During the night Russian attacks on Kyiv, the Lithuanian embassy was also damaged. Missiles struck just a few meters from the embassy. Fortunately, our staff were not injured. Today, the Lithuanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs will summon Russia's representative in Vilnius
The head of the Lithuanian MFA emphasized: "The Russian campaign of terror against Ukraine continues without restrictions. There are no signs of a genuine desire to stop it, seek peace, or start negotiations. The Kremlin's goal remains unchanged: destruction, death, and intimidation. The response is clear: increase pressure on Russia through tougher sanctions and step up support for Ukraine."
"I spoke with the embassy staff. Everyone is calm, determined, continuing their work, and resilient. How I wish we were all like that in Lithuania," added the Lithuanian Foreign Minister, as quoted by LRT.
In a video comment, as LRT notes, Budrys stated that "when Russia attacked Kyiv with supersonic and ballistic missiles, one of them struck 150 meters away, another – ten meters from the Lithuanian embassy."
"No people were injured, that is the most important thing. However, property was damaged. Window frames shifted, glass shattered, the roof and solar panels were damaged. We will rebuild all of this," said Budrys.
"I spoke with the embassy staff. Everyone is calm, determined, continuing their work, they are resilient. How I wish we were all like that in Lithuania," added the Lithuanian Foreign Minister.
He also responded to the offer of assistance from Ukraine, voiced by the head of the MFA Andrii Sybiha, thanking him and adding: "Russian aggression will not break the resilience of the Ukrainian nation nor weaken our unwavering commitment to support Ukraine by all available means."
Lithuanian President Gitanas Nausėda reacted to the damage to the country's embassy in Kyiv, stating that "this is yet another reminder that Russia's terror knows no bounds. And that Ukraine is defending not only its own people but the security of all of Europe. Lithuania firmly supports President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, the people of Ukraine, and calls on our allies to strengthen their support by providing more modern air defense systems to save lives. Ukraine must be given the means to protect its skies, its people, and our shared freedom."
