Law enforcers detain Rivne resident who burned several cars of military personnel

A 22-year-old resident of Rivne was detained for setting fire to several vehicles belonging to the Armed Forces for a reward from Russian chatbots, creating an image of Ukrainians opposed to mobilization.

Law enforcement officers detained a man who set fire to several cars of the Defense Forces for a reward. This was reported by UNN with reference to the National Police.

Details 

Investigators of the Rivne Department of the National Police detained a 22-year-old resident of Rivne in accordance with Art. 208 of the CPC of Ukraine and placed him in a temporary detention center

Investigators found out that the defendant, looking for an easy part-time job, found an offer in one of the Russian chatbots to set fire to a car belonging to the Armed Forces of Ukraine for a reward.

Later, the Russian media presented videos with such cars as arson attacks on the cars of TCC and JV employees in order to create a picture in the hostile media of a self-initiated initiative of Ukrainians who allegedly oppose mobilization.

On July 2, a resident of Rivne set fire to a Nissan Almera belonging to a military man. He immediately reported on the "work" he had done, sending supporting photos. A few days later, he set fire to another vehicle, a Nissan X-Trail, which was being prepared for the front line

The court granted the investigator's motion and imposed on the suspect a custodial measure of restraint with the possibility of bail in the amount of UAH 242,240. He confesses to the crime, cooperates with the investigation and assures that he did not know that he was fulfilling the order of the aggressor country
