She noted that four amendments to the draft law HR.8035, which concerns assistance to Ukraine, will be submitted for debate:

  • by Victoria Spartz, aimed at eliminating a number of subparagraphs of the aid;
  • by Marjorie Taylor Green, aimed at reducing all dollar amounts provided for in the bill to zero;
  • by Kevin Hearn, aimed at establishing a ban on the use of economic aid to pay pensions and salaries to public servants;
  • by Kat Kammeck, aimed at removing all non-military aid from the bill.

We hope that amendments that reduce or eliminate aid to Ukraine will be rejected

Markarova explained that if the package successfully passes the House of Representatives, it will be submitted to the Senate as an amendment to the Senate bill on international aid HR.815, which was passed in February.
