In Kharkiv Region, TCC Officials Suspected of Extorting 250,000 UAH for Service in the Rear

TCC officials in the Kharkiv region demanded 250,000 hryvnias for service in the rear. The perpetrators were detained while receiving the money and have been taken into custody.
In the Kharkiv region, two officials of a district territorial recruitment and social support center were notified of suspicion for extorting 250,000 UAH from a person liable for military service. According to the investigation, for these funds, they promised to ensure service in a rear unit instead of being sent to a combat unit. This was reported by the Office of the Prosecutor General, according to UNN.
In the Kharkiv region, prosecutors of the Specialized Prosecutor's Office in the field of defense of the Eastern region notified two officials of a district territorial recruitment and social support center of suspicion, who were caught extorting 250,000 UAH from a person liable for military service
According to the investigation, for this amount, they promised to ensure the man's service in a rear unit — in the position of a driver at the RTRC and SS, instead of being sent to combat units.
To formalize service in a rear unit, a conclusion of the military medical commission was prepared regarding the man's fitness for service in support units, TRC and SS, training centers, and other similar units.
On May 21, 2024, law enforcement officers detained both officials in the Kharkiv region — immediately after receiving 250,000 UAH.
During searches of the office premises, documents and mobile phones were seized. The involvement of other individuals in the scheme is currently being verified.
A preventive measure has been chosen for both suspects — detention with the possibility of posting bail. They have also been suspended from their positions.
