In Bukovyna, police detained a man who wounded two police officers and hid in the forest for 11 days, the National Police reported on Saturday, UNN writes.

On July 28, during authorized investigative actions, a 54-year-old resident of the village of Yizhivtsi opened fire at police officers, wounding two investigators and fleeing, police said.
For 11 days, law enforcement officers continuously searched for the armed man.
On the day of the incident, police officers reportedly arrived at the man's place of residence to conduct an authorized search as part of criminal proceedings initiated under Part 1 of Article 263 (Illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
"During the investigative actions, the man suddenly grabbed a weapon and opened fire in the direction of the law enforcement officers. As a result of the attack, two criminal investigation officers of the Bukovyna police sustained gunshot wounds. They are currently in a medical facility," police said.
After committing the attack, the assailant fled and hid in a wooded area. A special police operation was launched in the region to search for and detain him. For 11 days, law enforcement officers continuously carried out a set of operational-search and investigative measures: they checked the information received, examined possible locations where the man might be staying, and combed the area
According to the report, the operation involved criminal investigation officers, investigators, canine handlers, bomb disposal experts, forensic specialists, patrol officers, KORD special unit personnel, unmanned aerial vehicle operators, and servicemen of the National Guard of Ukraine.
As a result of the measures taken, police established the whereabouts of the wanted man and detained him under Article 208 of the Criminal Procedure Code of Ukraine
During an authorized search at the man's place of residence, police reportedly found and seized ammunition. The material evidence was sent for the necessary expert examinations.
The pre-trial investigation is being conducted under Article 348 (encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer) and Article 263 (illegal handling of weapons, ammunition, or explosives) of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
The issue of choosing a preventive measure for the suspect — detention in custody — is currently being decided.
