The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine proposes to create search groups to find people who went missing during the war.
The Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine proposes to create search teams to search for missing persons in special circumstances. Today, the government approved the relevant draft law. This was reported by the government's representative in the Verkhovna Rada, Taras Melnychuk, on Telegram, UNN reported.
The Draft Law "On Amendments to Article 11 of the Law of Ukraine "On the Legal Status of Persons Missing in Special Circumstances" was approved. The draft law proposes to define the powers of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to establish search groups in coordination with the Coordination Headquarters for the Treatment of Prisoners of War for the period of martial law and within one year from the date of its termination or cancellation, as well as to determine the procedure for conducting search operations
As noted, the draft law provides for granting the Coordination Headquarters the right to organize and conduct negotiations with humanitarian missions, public associations and individuals operating and/or located in the temporarily occupied territories in Donetsk and Luhansk regions, the Autonomous Republic of Crimea and the city of Sevastopol, and other temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine, in order to search for persons missing under special circumstances.

The Unified Register of Missing Personshas been created in Ukraine. The register was developed by the Ministry of Internal Affairs together with the Commissioner for Missing Persons and other agencies.
