A Russian agent who planned to blow up railroad tracks with an improvised explosive device was detained in Kharkiv region.

Law enforcement officers detained a Russian agent who was preparing a sabotage at Ukrzaliznytsia facilities in Kharkiv region. The saboteur tried to blow up the power lines for railroad tracks and rolling stock near a junction station. UNN reports this with reference to the SBU. 

Details 

The attacker turned out to be a local resident who worked for the General Staff of the Russian Armed Forces (known as the game).

He planned to use an improvised explosive device to commit a series of explosions. The defendant remotely received instructions for its manufacture at home from Russian military intelligence.

In the event of sabotage, the occupiers hoped to disrupt the logistics of fuel and ammunition supplies for the Defense Forces in the Liman sector

In addition, during the investigation, evidence was obtained that the defendant had performed another task - he collected information about the locations of the Armed Forces units in Kharkiv and Pavlohrad, in Dnipropetrovs'k region.

To do this, the attacker traveled around the area of both regions in the dark and covertly recorded the locations of Ukrainian troops.

According to the investigation, the defendant coordinated his actions remotely with an acquaintance, a representative of the Russian intelligence apparatus based in Russia.

Currently, SBU investigators have served him a notice of suspicion under Part 2 of Article 114-2 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (unauthorized dissemination of information on the movement or deployment of the Armed Forces committed under martial law).
