In Moldova, a drone was recorded crossing the country's border at night during a Russian attack on Ukraine; the drone exploded, the Ministry of Defense of Moldova reported on Monday, UNN writes.

The Ministry of Defense reports that on June 8, 2026, at 00:20, the surveillance systems of the National Army and cross-border cooperation recorded the crossing of the state border of the Republic of Moldova by an unmanned aerial vehicle from the direction of the Mykhailivka-Lopatna settlement

As indicated, "after the intervention of specialized structures of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, it was confirmed that fragments of an unmanned aerial vehicle were found in an agricultural field near the settlement of Lopatna."

The Moldovan police stated that "the police received a report last night, around midnight, from a resident of the village of Lopatna, who reported observing an unknown aircraft in the rural area, possibly a drone, which subsequently exploded."

The task force, specialized services, and response teams, as indicated, immediately went to the scene. "The area was isolated, secured, and is under surveillance in accordance with procedures," the report says.

"Traces documented at the scene indicate a preliminary explosion. The discovered fragments are being examined to establish the origin of the aircraft and the circumstances of the incident," the Ministry of Defense of Moldova stated.

"We note that a massive Russian attack using drones and missiles took place against Ukraine tonight," the statement reads.

After preliminary checks, the Moldovan police reported that no one was injured.

The responsible services, as noted by the Ministry of Defense of Moldova, continue to document the case and monitor the situation.

This morning, specialized investigations were resumed, the Moldovan police indicated.
