The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine confirmed the strike on the "Slavneft-YANOS" oil refinery in Yaroslavl and "Bashneft-Novoil" in Ufa, as well as on two repeaters for controlling drones. Fires broke out at the plants; the extent of the damage is being уточнюється.

"On August 5 and during the night of August 6, 2026, as part of efforts to reduce the military and economic potential of the Russian aggressor, units of Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck a number of important enemy facilities," the General Staff said in a statement.
During the night of August 6, the Slavneft-YANOS oil refinery in Yaroslavl (Yaroslavl region, Russian Federation) was struck. A hit on the facility was recorded, followed by a fire on the premises of the enterprise — three fire outbreaks were confirmed

The Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine also confirmed the strike, stating that "Bashneft-Novoil" is one of the oil refineries of the "Ufa Refinery Group," located in the city of Ufa (Republic of Bashkortostan). Its designed primary refining capacity is approximately 7.1–7.3 million tonnes of oil per year.
The Special Operations Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine clarified that "on August 6, Deep Strike units of the Special Operations Forces, in cooperation with the Unmanned Systems Forces, the Security Service of Ukraine and the Main Intelligence Directorate, struck the Yaroslavl Oil Refinery ("Slavneft-YANOS")." This was also confirmed by the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. According to the Unmanned Systems Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, the Slavneft-YANOS enterprise, with a designed capacity of 15 million tonnes of oil per year, is among the five largest oil refineries in the Russian Federation. The refinery specializes in deep oil processing and produces motor gasoline, diesel fuel, aviation kerosene, jet fuel, fuel oil and other petroleum products.
