Cuba's Ministry of Energy reported that the national power grid was fully restored at about 11:35 local time on Tuesday. The nationwide blackout occurred on Sunday evening and was already the fourth in less than a month.

According to the government, the process of restoring electricity supply was delayed due to adverse weather conditions.
Havana blamed the US for the blackouts
Cuba's Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez stated that the repeated massive power outages are a consequence of US sanctions, particularly, as he claims, an actual oil blockade that has been ongoing for eight months.

According to him, the sanctions have deprived the country of access to fuel, spare parts, and international technical support, which complicates the stable operation of the energy system.

In response, the Cuban authorities have introduced a series of market economic reforms, but emphasize that the country's political system is not a subject of negotiations.
