President of the European Council António Costa stated that after the adoption of the support package for Ukraine and sanctions against Russia, the European Union should move to the next stage – promoting Ukraine's accession to the bloc, reports UNN.

According to Costa, the EU has already demonstrated support for Ukraine financially and politically, and now must move further in the enlargement process.
The statement came against the backdrop of discussions on possible alternative formats for Ukraine's integration; however, Brussels continues to speak specifically about full membership.
