Law enforcement detained a criminal group that planned to blow up a volunteer family in Cherkasy region. The criminals prepared 4 improvised explosive devices due to non-payment of a debt for repair work.

Law enforcement officers neutralized a criminal group that attempted to assassinate a family of volunteers from Cherkasy region, UNN  reports, citing the National Police of Ukraine.

The Security Service and the National Police prevented an attempt on the life of a volunteer family in Cherkasy region. We are talking about the head of a charity foundation that helps the Defense Forces, and her husband, a demobilized soldier of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who was seriously wounded on the front line.

According to the information, law enforcement officers neutralized a criminal group that tried to blow up volunteers right in their home with the help of improvised explosive devices.

It is said that the main motives of the attempt were that the volunteers refused to pay the debt for repairs in their house.

To commit the crime, the attackers prepared 4 improvised explosive devices, which were equipped with gunpowder, nuts and incendiary cords. They planned to throw explosives into the bedroom where the victims were staying. However, the attackers were caught red-handed by the SBU when they were preparing to enter the victims ' premises.

Improvised explosive devices, components for making explosives and mobile phones with evidence of the crime were seized from the defendants.

Two organizers of the group were charged under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.

Suspicion of their accomplice is also planned.Now they are in custody, and they face life imprisonment with confiscation of property.
