Google searches for moving to Canada increased by 1270%, to New Zealand by 2000%, and to Australia by 820%. Immigration lawyers report a sharp increase in requests from Americans.

After the announcement of Donald Trump's victory in the US presidential election, the number of Google searches for moving out of the country increased dramatically. In particular, Americans are frantically searching for information about moving to Canada, New Zealand, and Australia. This was reported by Reuters, according to UNN.

According to the publication, after exit polls in the United States began to report Donald Trump's victory, many Americans began to look for opportunities to move abroad.

“The number of Google searches for 'move to Canada' increased by 1270% in the 24 hours after polls closed on the US East Coast on Tuesday. Similar searches for moving to New Zealand increased by almost 2000%, and searches for Australia increased by 820%,” the publication writes.

It is noted that Google searches for emigration have reached their highest level. Some immigration lawyers are also inundated with requests.

“Every half an hour we get a new email request. Obviously, Trump is the impetus for the move, but it's also the society. The majority of Americans voted for him, and some people don't necessarily feel comfortable in this society. People are afraid that they will lose their freedom,” said Evan Green, managing partner of Canadian immigration law firm Green and Spiegel.
