Last year, the SBU hit the Crimean bridge for the second time , when Sea Baby marine drones rammed into the bridge's supports, UNN reports .
The SBU reminded that on July 17, 2023, Sea Baby marine drones rammed the supports of the Crimean Bridge. For more than 20 hours, the SBU drones moved in two groups towards the target. They managed to go undetected under the noses of the Russians and destroyed one section of the bridge and significantly damaged the other.
This special operation cut the logistical artery that fed Russian troops in southern Ukraine. This was the second successful SBU attack on the Crimean bridge.
The first one took place in October 2022. Then the Security Service hit the bridge with a truck packed with explosives.
"The SBU implemented two completely unique and differently conceived special operations to hit the bridge from land and sea. Both were successful," said SBU Head Vasyl Malyuk.
Malyuk also stated that the Crimean bridge is doomedbecause it is an illegal construction on the territory of Ukraine.
From a military point of view, this is a cut in the logistics artery. When we first hit it on October 8, 2022, they were restoring it for more than 8 months. At that time, they were transporting all the munitions, military equipment, and weapons by alternative means, such as pontoon crossings, and the bridge was not fully functional
