About 35 homes were instructed to prepare for a possible evacuation and gather essential items, including documents and medication. Hot and dry weather remains the cause of the spread of fires in western Canada.

Anmore Acting Mayor Doug Richardson assured residents that local authorities would keep them informed about developments.

We are a small team, but we will do everything possible to keep our residents informed

— Richardson said.

Efforts are underway to contain the fire

According to Metro Vancouver authorities, the fire in the Belcarra Park area has been almost contained. The fire is not currently expected to spread beyond the established containment lines, although firefighters continue to extinguish isolated hot spots.
