The agreement on security cooperation and long-term support that Ukraine signed with Finland contains powerful blocks on sanctions, compensation for damages and bringing the aggressor to justice, said the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak. "The agreement contains powerful blocks on sanctions, compensation for damages and bringing the aggressor to justice. The document clearly demonstrates Finland's support for Ukraine's future membership in the EU and NATO," Yermak wrote.
He said that the signed document is valid for ten years and strengthens support and protection of Ukraine on its path to NATO and EU membership.
In total, the agreement contains 89 points. The agreement includes a section on cooperation in the event of a future armed attack by Russia.
In particular, Finland will, in accordance with its legal and constitutional requirements, provide rapid and sustained security assistance, modern military equipment on land, sea and air, as well as economic assistance to impose economic and other sanctions on Russia and consult on Ukraine's needs in the exercise of its right to self-defense, as enshrined in Article 51 of the UN Charter.
Assistance package
According to him, simultaneously with the signing of the document, Finland announced the 23rd package of assistance to Ukraine worth 188 million euros.
"Thus, the total amount of military support to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale military aggression has approached EUR 2 billion. Finland is currently preparing a four-year plan to support Ukraine. The budget for development and reconstruction is 290 million euros," said Yermak.

As of today, Ukraine has already concluded 8 bilateral security agreements: with the UK, Germany, France, Denmark, Canada, Italy, the Netherlands, and Finland.
