President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy has met with European Union representative Josep Borrell. Following the meeting, Zelensky said that by the end of the year, European partners should have time to fully implement the initiative to supply Ukraine with 1 million artillery shells. Zelensky said this in an evening address, UNN reports.

The Czech Republic initiated the purchase of ammunition for Ukraine, sourcing the shells outside the EU. In February, Czech President Petr Pavel said that his country had found sources abroad to supply Ukraine with shells.
