"Without me, they do not sit down" - Zelenskyy confirmed the conflict between Fedorov and Syrskyi

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy confirmed the conflict between former Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov and the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi. Zelenskyy stated this during a press conference on Thursday, reports UNN.

"A president during wartime should not have to choose in such a situation. I would very much like unity. The parties did not find it. And in this, the problem is not only of the parties, but also mine. That is, I do not absolve myself of responsibility. And, as I told you, I respect the parties, I know their strengths, I know their weaknesses, and I very much want them to strengthen Ukraine. But it is what it is. And in such a situation, you have a choice - either one side or the other. Because without me, they do not sit down. Do you understand? I am the President of Ukraine. And there is the Minister of Defense, there is the army leadership, they must work on their own, daily, constantly," said Zelenskyy.

He noted that he will demonstrate consistency in his actions.

"I am simply showing that if the parties cannot resolve the issue, I will have to resolve it," added Zelenskyy.

The Verkhovna Rada appointed Serhiy Koretskyi, who heads NJSC "Naftogaz of Ukraine," as the new Prime Minister of Ukraine, replacing Yuliia Svyrydenko, who was dismissed from this position on Tuesday.

The Prime Minister Serhiy Koretskyi, appointed today by the Verkhovna Rada, submitted to the Verkhovna Rada a draft resolution on the appointment of a new Cabinet of Ministers.

Koretskyi also responded to a question about the possibility of keeping Mykhailo Fedorov in the position of Minister of Defense, noting that it is necessary to wait for the vote on the appointment of the next minister, and then take the next steps.
