One of the most important holidays under the auspices of the UN. It was established in 1989 to draw attention to global demographic issues. On July 11, 1987, the Earth's population exceeded 5 billion people (today we are already over 8 billion).
This day is dedicated to issues of sustainable development, family planning, and the fight against poverty.

Naadam

Day of Remembrance of Equal-to-the-Apostles Princess Olga
According to the new (New Julian) calendar, on July 11, the OCU and UGCC honor the outstanding ruler of Kyivan Rus. Princess Olga was the first of the Rus rulers to officially adopt Christianity (before the general Baptism of Rus by her grandson Volodymyr) and went down in history as a wise, strong, and diplomatic stateswoman.
For those who follow the old (Julian) calendar, July 11 commemorates the transfer of the relics of the holy unmercenaries Cyrus and John, as well as the icon of the Mother of God "Three Hands". Among the people, this day was also called "Nettle Fast-breaking" - it was believed that this was the last day of summer when young nettle retains its healing properties, so housewives traditionally cooked green borscht with nettle.
