“Ukrzaliznytsia launches ticket sales for a children's compartment car designed in partnership with UNICEF, which will run on the 15/16 Kharkiv-Yasinia train starting August 8.
This was reported by the press service of Ukrzaliznytsia, UNN reports.
Ticket sales for the first ever children's compartment car in the history of Ukrzaliznytsia have started, and it will be running as part of the train No. 15/16 Kharkiv - Yasinia starting August 8. The car is equipped in such a way that the youngest passengers from 0 to 8 years old and their parents will be comfortable, safe and interesting on the way
The children's car was designed at the initiative of Ukrzaliznytsia in cooperation with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) and with financial support from the Belgian government. The modernization work lasted about six months. The car is equipped with modern solutions for comfortable travel for parents with children, including playpens and changing tables in the restroom.
We are systematically moving towards our goal of becoming the most child-friendly railroad in Europe. I am grateful to UNICEF for their partnership and care for the youngest passengers at all stages of their journey: from modern children's areas at 6 stations to this car. It is important that this unique car was modernized in Ukraine - at our Kyiv Electric Car Repair Plant. We plan to launch 7 more such cars by the end of this year
Tickets for this car can be purchased exclusively through the Ukrzaliznytsia mobile application. The ticket price is similar to the price of compartment tickets of the same class on the same train. The car is marked “Children's” in the app so that parents with small children can choose this particular car.
We remind you that children under 5 years of age travel free of charge on Ukrzaliznytsia trains and do not need a separate ticket.
Recall
Ukrzaliznytsia is expanding the number of trains with women's compartments. Starting today, they will be available on four new long-distance trains, the company said.
