Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba announced Ukraine's active participation in the Transnistrian settlement process. Ukraine supports a peaceful resolution of the conflict with respect for Moldova's sovereignty and territorial integrity.

Ukraine's Foreign Minister Dmytro Kuleba said that Ukraine is actively contributing to the stabilization of the situation in the region and supports a peaceful resolution of the conflict with respect for Moldova's sovereignty and territorial integrity. He said this in an interview with the Moldovan edition of NewsMaker, UNN reports .

Ukraine has been and remains an active participant in the Transnistrian settlement process. Like other participants, the authorized representative of Ukraine holds consultations with representatives of this process, with the exception of the aggressor country, Russia, and with the parties to the conflict, Chisinau and Tiraspol,

- Kuleba says.

He emphasized that Ukraine will make every effort to ensure stability in Transnistria and facilitate a productive dialogue between Chisinau and Tiraspol. He also noted that there is effective cooperation with Moldova on issues related to the Transnistrian region.

Supporting the position of the Republic of Moldova in the Transnistrian settlement process, Ukraine stands for a peaceful resolution of the conflict on the nistru River, while preserving Moldova's sovereignty and territorial integrity within its internationally recognized borders. Transnistria is Moldova, and there are no alternatives to this. russia has discredited itself as a mediator and guarantor in the negotiation process on the Transnistrian settlement in the international "5+2" format. Having started the war against Ukraine, Russia has violated international law, rules and principles, and therefore we do not see any possibility of continuing negotiations in the above-mentioned international format with the participation of the aggressor country

- said the Foreign Minister.

Kuleba said that Russia's presence in the 5+2 negotiation format makes it ineffective. He believes that at this stage, the most effective method is to hold a dialogue in the "1+1" format, i.e. direct negotiations between Chisinau and Tiraspol.

Kuleba also noted that Ukraine will continue to support the Moldovan side in achieving the main goal of the negotiations - the reintegration of the country. At the same time, he emphasized that the ineffectiveness of the 5+2 format requires its renewal.

In his view, given the start of negotiations on Moldova and Ukraine's accession to the European Union, the Transnistrian settlement should become an issue on the European agenda, particularly in the security sphere.

We also see how Russia is trying to use Gagauzia in its political games. In this context, the example of the Transnistrian region is illustrative. russia never thinks about ordinary people, it is indifferent to them. it is interested in conflict, destruction and vulnerability of people. moscow simply wants to use certain regions and people to destabilize neighboring countries. We have seen all this many times in Moldova, Ukraine, and Georgia. It is important that everyone understands Moscow's true intentions and does not allow themselves to be used in its dirty game. Stability and prosperity for all Moldovan regions are possible only within the framework of one successful and European state, the Republic of Moldova,

- He added.

Recall

Russia tried to use unrecognized Transnistria and Gagauzia to conduct hybrid operations to destabilize the situation in Moldova on the eve of the EU accession negotiations and presidential elections.
