Ukraine expects to open all six negotiation clusters with the EU in June-July - Zelenskyy

Ukraine expects to open all six clusters of EU accession negotiations in June-July, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Tuesday, UNN reports.

"We are aiming to open all six negotiation clusters in June-July,"

Zelenskyy wrote on social media following negotiations with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson.

He noted that Ukraine has consistent support from Sweden regarding Ukraine's European integration. "I am grateful to the Prime Minister for confirming this support," the President stated.

Also, according to Zelenskyy, he and Kristersson discussed the results of his recent visit to Sweden and the implementation of agreements regarding Gripen fighter jets. "It was an important meeting that significantly strengthened our cooperation. Thank you, Sweden!" the President wrote.

Zelenskyy also stated that he and the Swedish Prime Minister coordinated contacts for the near future. "Special attention was paid to strengthening the protection of Ukraine's skies, namely finding ways to obtain air defense systems and missiles for them. I informed him about the meeting with leaders in the E3-Ukraine format and contacts with representatives of the US President regarding our efforts to achieve peace," Zelenskyy wrote.

Kristersson himself called the meeting with Zelenskyy "valuable." "We continued discussions on Gripen fighter jets and developments on the front line. Ukraine has momentum on the battlefield – Sweden will continue to support," the Swedish Prime Minister wrote on X.

Zelenskyy responded to this, stating: "Sincere thanks for your support! We are doing everything possible to ensure that Gripen fighter jets begin operations and to continue maintaining strong ties with Sweden."
