Ukraine and Estonia discuss creation of joint defense enterprises

Shmyhal and the Estonian President discussed the possibility of establishing joint defense enterprises, as well as Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.

During a meeting with Estonian President Alar Karis in Tallinn, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal discussed the possibility of establishing joint defense enterprises. Shmyhal reported this on Telegram, UNN reports. 

Ukraine needs more weapons to drive Russia out of all our lands. We appreciate Estonia's involvement in military support initiatives. We are increasing our own weapons production. In this context, we raised the issue of establishing joint defense enterprises

According to the Prime Minister, the parties also discussed Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations.   Shmyhal indicated that Ukraine should be a member of the EU and NATO, and Kyiv relies on Estonia's support.

The Ukrainian prime minister also recalled that Kāris was among the European leaders who visited Ukraine immediately after the liberation of Kyiv region two years ago.  He thanked the Estonian president for this landmark visit.

The Estonian army believes that Russia may take advantage of the stagnation in arms supplies and launch a new offensive due to its superiority in manpower, although it is extremely difficult to assess the likelihood of this.
