The fatal accident occurred on Sunday in the state of Chihuahua. The car, which was carrying American employees and Mexican officials, went off the road, fell into a ravine, and exploded. Four people died in the accident, two of whom were US representatives and two Mexican officials.

Chihuahua Attorney General César Jáuregui Moreno stated that the Americans were not directly involved in the Mexican raid on a drug laboratory, which he called "possibly one of the largest ever discovered."

Against the backdrop of these events, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced that she would initiate an investigation to determine whether the operation violated the country's national security laws. At the same time, the CIA refused to comment on the situation.
