"Summer traditionally remains the busiest period for crossing the border. During the holiday season, passenger traffic on the western section of the border increases by an average of up to 20% compared to annual averages. As of mid-summer, more than 4.5 million people and almost 900,000 vehicles have crossed the western section of the border," the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported.
Currently, the number of citizens who have left Ukraine, as indicated, exceeds the number of those who have entered by more than 150,000 people. "This dynamic is traditional for June and July. In August, the advantage gradually shifts to entry into Ukraine, as more citizens return home," the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine stated.
The busiest checkpoints remain Shehyni, Krakivets, Ustyluh, Uzhhorod, Chop (Tysa), Luzhanka, and Porubne
To avoid long waits, border guards recommend "choosing morning or late evening hours for leaving Ukraine and, if possible, weekdays, and weekends for entry."
