The White House accused Democrats of inciting violence through aggressive rhetoric. Trump called his opponents' statements dangerous hate speech.

The administration of US President Donald Trump has blamed the Democratic Party for the rise in political violence. This was stated by White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt, CNN reports, according to UNN.

According to her, Democratic representatives allegedly systematically use aggressive rhetoric that provokes violent actions. Leavitt cited examples of statements by a number of influential politicians, including members of Congress and governors.
"These are elected officials from the Democratic Party who are calling for war against the President of the United States and his supporters,"
The press secretary also added: "When you have people in power saying things like this every day for years, you provoke violence from people who already have mental illnesses, and that is exactly what we have been witnessing against this president for far too long."
The day before, Donald Trump himself, following the shooting at the White House Correspondents' Dinner, initially called for unity, but later stated that the Democrats' "hate speech" is "very dangerous."
At the same time, as CNN notes, the White House did not mention the harsh rhetoric from Republicans and Trump himself.
In recent years, the US has recorded a series of political violence incidents directed against representatives of various political forces.
