State Emergency Service completed cleaning of Kyrylivske Lake after Russian strike on Kyiv

Rescuers collected 317 cubic meters of petroleum products from Kyrylivske Lake after the Russian shelling on July 2. The pollution covered 20,600 square meters of water surface.
Rescuers have completed the work of collecting petroleum products from the surface of Lake Kyrylivske in the Obolon district of Kyiv, which was polluted after a Russian attack on the capital on the night of July 2. This was reported by the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, writes UNN.

According to the SES, the pollution of the reservoir occurred as a result of hits during the Russian attack, which caused fuel and lubricants to enter the lake's water area. As a result, about 20,600 square meters of the water surface were polluted.
For 16 days, rescuers from different regions of Ukraine carried out continuous work to prevent the spread of pollution. To eliminate the consequences, they used skimmer systems, permanent floating booms, and sorbent booms.
Collected over 300 cubic meters of pollutants
The SES reported that 317 cubic meters of pollutant were collected and removed from the lake's surface.
After the completion of the main work, 230 m of sorbent booms and 550 m of permanent floating booms were left on the reservoir to further contain possible residual pollution.
About 60 rescuers and 20 units of special equipment were involved in eliminating the consequences.
