The NATO-Ukraine Council met today, April 4 in Brussels. NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg opened the meeting by announcing that the Allies would focus on Ukraine's immediate needs and strengthening the Alliance's support for it.
US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken saidthat Ukraine will eventually become a NATO member, adding that support for the country among the Alliance's member states was "rock solid.
On April 2, Blinken expressed hope that the NATO summit in Washington this summer would focus on a "roadmap" for Ukraine's accession to the Alliance.
