Procurement of food products directly from producers for the Armed Forces will save up to 20% - Director General of the State Defense Department
Kyiv • UNN
The state-owned logistics operator will save up to 20% of the cost of food and other goods by entering into direct contracts with producers, avoiding intermediaries and ensuring quality control.
Direct contracts with producers of food and other goods will save up to 20% of their cost. This opinion was voiced by Arsen Zhumadilov, Director General of the State Operator of the Logistics, in an interview with Ukrainian Radio, UNN reports.
In particular, he noted that the State Treasury Department already buys bread, bakery products and water directly from producers. Further movement in this direction will lead to serious budgetary savings.
"We understand that by contracting directly with producers, we will be able to save approximately 15-20% of the cost of goods. That is, if we are talking about a total annual budget of 40-45 billion hryvnias, and if we sell about 25 billion directly to manufacturers, we will save about 5 billion hryvnias. And in this case, we are talking about savings without compromising quality. If we sign contracts directly with manufacturers, we will be able to control the quality both at the point of shipment and at the point of acceptance. This is a better and more thorough way than it is now, when it happens through intermediaries," Zhumadilov said.
He noted that more than four billion hryvnias had been saved on the contracts already concluded.
"As of today, although we have been operating for just over 3 months, we have already signed almost 90 contracts totaling UAH 11 billion. At the same time, we have saved UAH 4.6 billion. I think this is quite significant. And this is the savings that allow us to continue purchasing more of what the army needs," added the Director General of the State Defense Enterprise.

According to Zhumadilov, strengthening operational and economic sanctions against companies that have not fulfilled their obligations to other customers will allow the State Logistics Operator to exclude them from participating in tenders for the supply of food to the Armed Forces, among other things.
Recall
The Kyiv District Administrative Court dismissed a lawsuit challenging the requirements set forth in a draft contract for the purchase of food for the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
In particular, the plaintiff challenged the requirements regarding the obligation of suppliers to register tax invoices in a timely manner and to provide the customer with the opportunity to check the storage conditions of food to be supplied to the military.
Earlier, the Board of the Sixth Administrative Court of Appeal, following a lawsuit filed by Trade Granite Invest, canceled the condition prohibiting the participation in tenders of suppliers who failed to fulfill their obligations to the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine in 2022-2023.
Because of this, the State Logistics Operator was forced to cancel 11 tenders.
The company Trade Granite Invest is most likely involved in a powerful information attack on the new team of the Ministry of Defense and the DOT, which could be led by the traitor of Ukraine Viktor Medvedchuk.
