A resident of Kropyvnytskyi was sentenced to 15 years in prison for attempting to provide the Russian Federal Security Service with information that would allow for missile strikes on airfields in Kirovohrad region.

Thanks to the evidence base of the Security Service, an FSB agent who was preparing a series of Russian air attacks on Kirovohrad region received a real prison term. This was reported by the press service of the SBU, UNN reports .

At the direction of the Russian secret service, the accomplice was to adjust missile strikes on the airfields of the Defense Forces. To fulfill the enemy's task, the offender walked around the perimeters of aviation infrastructure facilities, where he tried to detect Ukrainian combat aircraft,

Details

It is noted that he drew attention to the possible presence of air defense missile systems near potential "targets". The agent was supposed to pass the information to his Russian supervisor to adjust enemy fire to "bypass" Ukrainian air defense.

The SBU detained the offender in early summer 2023 while he was conducting additional reconnaissance near a strategic facility. Based on SBU materials, the court sentenced him to 15 years in prison.

As the investigation established, the enemy accomplice is a handyman from Kropyvnytskyi, whom the FSB recruited remotely in early 2023. He came to the attention of the Russian secret service because of his anti-Ukrainian posts on pro-Kremlin Telegram channels.

It has been established that the traitor was in direct contact with a career officer of the 5th FSB Service, who was in the temporarily occupied Crimea. They used an anonymous chat in a messenger to communicate with each other, and the traitor began each session of "correspondence" with a code word. For his cooperation with the occupiers, he received money "transfers" in cryptocurrency.

During the search, a cell phone was seized from the detainee, which he used in reconnaissance and subversive activities in favor of Russia.

Based on the evidence, the court found him guilty under Part 2 of Article 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (high treason committed under martial law).
