One-third of battles occurring in three sectors of the front - General Staff updates maps

263 combat engagements and over 9,000 drone attacks recorded over the past day. The situation is most intense in the Pokrovsk, Huliaipole, and Kostiantynivka sectors.
263 battles occurred at the front over the past day, with more than a third taking place in three directions - Pokrovsk, Huliaipole, and Kostiantynivka, the General Staff of the AFU reported in its morning briefing on May 16, showing a map of hostilities, UNN reports.
In total, 263 combat engagements were recorded over the past day
Yesterday, the enemy launched two missile strikes using two missiles and 89 air strikes, dropping 270 guided aerial bombs. In addition, it deployed 9,153 kamikaze drones and carried out 3,027 shellings of settlements and positions of our troops, including 55 from multiple launch rocket systems.
The aggressor carried out air strikes, particularly in the areas of settlements in the Sumy region – Vilna Sloboda and in the Chernihiv region - Karpovychi.
Over the past day, aviation, missile forces, and artillery of the Defense Forces hit 13 areas of concentration of enemy manpower and equipment, two UAV control points, one warehouse, and another important enemy facility.
Situation by directions
In the Pivnichno-Slobozhanskyi and Kursk directions, the aggressor launched three air strikes using eight KABs over the past day, carried out 57 shellings of our troops' positions and settlements, including one using MLRS. One enemy assault action was recorded.
In the Pivdenno-Slobozhanskyi direction, the enemy attacked the positions of our units 10 times towards Izbytske, Ternova, Novovasylivka, and in the areas of Starytsia, Lyman, Synelnykove, and Vovchanski Khutory.
In the Kupiansk direction, the enemy attacked twice towards Kindrashivka and Radkivka.
In the Lyman direction, the enemy tried to wedge into our defense 13 times, attacking in the areas of the settlements of Stavky, Zarichne, Yampil, Novyi Myr, Ozerne, and towards Novoserhiivka, Druželiubivka, Lyman, Dibrova.
In the Sloviansk direction, the enemy launched four assaults towards Rai-Oleksandrivka and in the area of Zakitne.
In the Kramatorsk direction, no attacks by the occupiers were recorded.
In the Kostiantynivka direction, the enemy carried out 23 attacks in the areas of the settlements of Illinivka, Pleshchiivka, Sofiivka, Vilne, Stepanivka, Toretske, Ivanopillia, and towards Kostiantynivka, Novopavlivka, Bilytske, Mykolaipillia.
In the Pokrovsk direction, our defenders stopped 35 assault actions of the aggressor towards the settlements of Zatyshok, Novooleksandrivka, Rodynske, Bilytske, Hryshyne, Serhiivka, Kotlyne, Udachne, Novomykolaivka, Novopavlivka, Filiia, Hannivka, and Molodetske.
In the Oleksandrivka direction, the enemy attacked once towards Dobropillia.
In the Huliaipole direction, the occupiers carried out 33 attacks in the areas of Pryluky, Charivne, Huliaipilske, Rybne, and towards Dobropillia, Zlahoda, Nove Zaporizhzhia, Pryvillia, Zaliznychne, Tsvitkove, Vozdvyzhivka, Staroukrainka, Krynychne.
In the Orikhiv direction, no assault actions by the occupiers were recorded.
In the Prydniprovskyi direction, the enemy conducted three attacks - towards Antonivka and Bilohrudyi Island.
In the Volyn and Polissia directions, no signs of the formation of enemy offensive groups were detected.
