Düsterhoft, who is a member of the SPD party, said that four shots were fired at his office. The phrase was also written on the wall of the building: "We condemn Germany for genocide".
The politician is sure that such actions were caused by "the situation in the Middle East". Against this background, he criticized the German government, which supports the Israeli authorities in the fighting in the Gaza Strip.
"The shooting at my photo and the slogans on the wall of the building are criminal acts that deeply affect and shock me. What will happen next - someone will stand in front of me with a gun and pull the trigger?" - he wrote.
