According to him, this includes the shelling of water reservoir hydrosystems in Kharkiv, Donetsk and Luhansk regions, damage to residential buildings, utilities and civilian critical infrastructure.

"During a comprehensive military examination, specialists from the research institutions of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine determine the type of weapon, caliber of shells, distance and location from which the fire was launched at civilian objects. The experts' conclusions become evidence in criminal cases against the aggressor country. We are working to ensure that for each fact of shelling of civilian infrastructure, the Russian Federation is brought to court for violating the laws and customs of war," noted Haichenko.

The Deputy Minister added that in the first half of 2024, the research institutions of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine conducted 1601 military examinations.

Recall

In order to improve the quality of examinations, Kyiv Scientific Research Institute of Forensic Expertise of the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine received a free license to use the innovative product eyesCloud3D.

"This technology uses photogrammetry, which allows for measurements in three dimensions and calculates volumes using images captured by any type of camera. This makes it possible to document all the circumstances at the scene with great accuracy and conduct a detailed analysis of the data obtained. In addition, it is important that the original information can be repeatedly accessed at any time. For example, the circumstances on the ground after the Russian missile attacks remain available for analysis even after the consequences have been eliminated," said Oleksandr Ruvin, Director of KFI.
