More than 25 thousand stories of personal victories: Ukrainians share what inspires them to fight further

More than 25 thousand Ukrainians have already joined the Project "Play for Ukraine", talking about their personal victories. The campaign was initiated by Novaya Pochta, and its ambassador was the legendary tennis player Elina Svitolina. The project aims to bring together people separated by borders and inspire them to notice their achievements even in the most difficult times. After all, every small success is part of a big victory, reports UNN. 

These are both great life breakthroughs, such as starting your own business or getting a new profession abroad, and quiet but important victories, such as overcoming fear, mastering new skills, or helping others in a difficult moment.   

Here are a few of them:

I work as a nurse in the intensive care unit. I especially remember one patient, an old woman who came to us in critical condition. Everyone said that there was almost no chance, but I decided to fight to the end. I checked her performance every day, took care of her and supported her. One morning, she looked at me with clear eyes and whispered softly, "Thank you." She began to recover and was eventually discharged.  this small victory reminded me why I was here, and gave me the strength to go further, not to give up.

My life is a series of victories: over myself to find the strength to live; over the war that could not break me; over my studies, thanks to which I learned 5 languages and graduated from University with honors. My greatest joy is our shared victory with my mother over her cancer. It inspires me to new achievements. But the biggest victory I expect is the victory of Ukraine.

When I came to Germany at the beginning of a full-scale war, my experience and hopelessness became my greatest resource. I was faced with distrust, as I was a newcomer from a foreign country. Personal problems and separation from family were even more pressing, not to mention the bureaucracy that seemed endless. I studied hard, made every effort in projects, and was not afraid to take responsibility. And two years later, I became a senior engineer at a large automobile company - a position that many here have been gaining for years. I was seen as a specialist who brings something unique. I realized that this recognition is also for my country, which raised me strong. This is my personal victory, so I will continue to represent my country with dignity and prove that Ukrainians are smart and professional.

Each campaign participant receives a limited edition red ball signed by Svitolina-as a symbol of unity and the importance of acting. And the owners of the two stories that the tennis player chooses will meet with her in person. 

To participate, you need to share your victory story on the site https://playforukraine.novaposhta.ua, distribute it in social networks with the hashtag #greizaukrainuznp and get a unique souvenir at the new post office or post office. 

The project is being implemented in Ukraine, Poland and Germany, where most of our fellow citizens live: in Germany —  more than 1.2 million people, in Poland —  more than 800 thousand people.
